What kind of books does TranslationWorks support?
English technical books translated into Simplified Chinese — programming guides, references, cookbooks, and engineering deep-dives, O’Reilly style. That focus is deliberate: tech books have code, terminology, and structure that general translation tools tend to mangle.
How is this different from pasting a book into a general translation tool?
General tools translate paragraph by paragraph and lose the thread across 300 pages. TranslationWorks works chapter by chapter with your glossaries and translation memory, keeps code untouched, preserves structure, and includes an editor built for reviewing a full book.
Is my code translated?
No. Code blocks, command lines, and inline code are detected and passed through untouched — npm install stays npm install. Only the prose around the code is translated.
Can I keep certain terms in English?
Yes. Add terms to a do-not-translate list, or define exact translations in a glossary — for example, always render “event loop” as 事件循环 while keeping state and reducer in English. Import existing glossaries from CSV or TMX.
What about copyright?
Translating a book requires rights. Upload only content you own or are licensed to translate — we support workflows between authors, translators, and publishers who hold those rights. Your manuscript is never used to train models and is never shared.
What can I do in the editor?
